The Role of the Early Years SENCO



An essential training course, starting on the 4th March at Oaklands School in Yeovil, for both EY Practitioners new to the SENCo role and experienced EY SENCos wishing to update their knowledge and skills. Practitioners who undertake this training may choose to build on these 2 days which form the initial part of the accredited Level 3 National EY SENCo Award.

Main News Story

​This two day course focuses on sharing quality, inclusive practice within the delivery of the EYFS framework and the SEND Code of Practice. It also provides opportunities for participants to focus on areas of development within their own settings. The course will cover:
• Understanding the role of the EY SENCo
• An insight into the SEND Code of Practice
• Somerset’s approach to early years, SEND and statutory practices
• Opportunities for sharing good practice with other EY SENCos
