Safeguarding Webinar - Gaming & Gambling related harms for young people



YGAM (Young Gamers and Gamblers Education Trust) is a national education charity with a social purpose to inform, educate, safeguard and build digital resilience amongst young and vulnerable people, helping them to make informed decisions and understand the consequences around gambling and gaming.

​They have launched a new FREE 90 min webinar aimed at practitioners working directly with young people to gain a better understand the potential harms of Gaming & Gambling. This is becoming somewhat of a “hot topic” especially as students start to return to school.

Topics covered include:

•             The signs to look out for when an individual is at risk and where to seek help

•             How young people growing up in a tech-savvy environment are increasingly exposed to gaming and gambling and how these activities have become normalised and are part of everyday culture in this country

•             The influence of advertising, particularly around sporting events, and how this has drifted across into the online world

•             The role of social media, in game purchases, loot boxes and Esports

•             Our resources for practitioners to deliver
