Through Public Health England’s publication ‘COVID-19: mental health and wellbeing surveillance report’, we know that there is growing indicative evidence that COVID-19 and associated interventions, such as social distancing and stay at home guidance including school closures, have likely had an adverse effect on the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people (CYP).

All of these programmes complement the Wellbeing Education Return (WER) programme which is the new DfE funded programme that will help equip schools and CYP professionals with the knowledge, skills and confidence to support children and young people’s emotional, mental health and wellbeing as they return to education and beyond into recovery.
