Capita have informed us that the temporary SIMS attendance codes to enable schools to differentiate between an I code – Illness due to COVID-19, code 7 and a Y code – Self isolating due to COVID-19, code 8, or Shielding due to COVID-19, code 9 that were introduced for use in the second half of the summer term only must now be removed and the coding amended to the actual codes I or Y, or there will be errors in the Spring School Census.
A patch will be applied overnight on Wednesday 18th November that will automatically change these codes to the permanent codes, I or Y, that they were mapped to and remove codes 7, 8 and 9. The SIMS Team will be monitoring whether the patch has run successfully at schools and fix issues where it hasn't.
If schools wish to run reports for pupils where codes 7, 8 and 9 have been recorded, for reference in the future, they must do this before 6pm on Wednesday 18th November, as Capita have informed us the patch must be run before the upcoming SIMS upgrade.
