What are the school term and holiday dates in Somerset?

You can download Somerset's dates for the academic years:

2019-2020 Academic Year  Revised June 2019  - early May Day Bank Holiday moved to 8th May 2020

 2020/2021 Academic Year

 2021/2022 Academic Year

(Please note: for Word versions of these documents, please see 'Special Notes for School Staff' below.)

These dates will apply to Community and Voluntary Controlled schools.  Academies, Voluntary Aided, Foundation and Free Schools are able to set their own term dates and holidays, although most align their dates with those set by Somerset County Council.

Each year a total of 195 school days are identified and all schools are able to choose 5 INSET days which best suit them.  In other words, pupils attend school for 190 days each year.  It is the responsibility of each school to notify its parents and staff which dates have been identified for INSET
