The curriculum at Brent Knoll Primary is a broad and balanced one that makes the most of the locality. Teachers produce a curriculum letter for parents each half-or full term depending on the class make-up and the time of year.

Over a year and through a Key Stage the children will study topics that cover a broad range of subjects: some are history based, some geography, but all usually combining a combination of English and creative skills. There are also science and computing based topics, which may also cross over with work in other areas.

PE and music are mostly taught by our regular visiting teachers. These teachers provide a very specialist service. Extra music and sports provision is available via a range of clubs throughout the year. We also aim to access a variety of other opportunities for children whenever possible.

During the school year we plan trips and visits, and arrange for visitors to come into school. The Year 5s and 6s also attend a residential each year.

Parents and carers are informed of about what each class is learning vis Curriculum Newsletters, which are published each term. These can be seen by looking at our class pages. Our curriculum is based on the government's National Curriculum 2014, if you wish to view more information about the Primary curriculum the please click on the link - Primary National Curriculum 2014
