Morpurgo Class have had a busy start to the term: beginning their topic on the Romans, with a visit from a Roman Centurion; carrying out their own historical research and even writing adventure stories, based on a rescue from Pompeii!
The current theme for our Jigsaw lessons is 'Dreams and Goals'. The children have celebrated their own strengths and thought about what they would like to achieve both inside and outside of school. It has been interesting to hear about each pupil's goals and the steps they think they need to take to help them get there. Do come in and see our 'totem poles'.
Last term we were lucky to have our PE lessons with Mr Bissett at his gym in .....?! , where we all enjoyed Ninja Fitness. This term we are travelling to the DanceFit dance studio on a Friday afternoon, where we are being very energetic with Miss Lilly, who is teaching Street Dance and dance fit skills.
Naturally this term is also packed with ensuring that all of the children have the necessary Maths and English skills to ensure they are confident and can do their very best in their SATS tests, which will take place in May. The tests are challenging and we are working hard to master problem solving and arithmetic in Maths and Spelling and Grammar in English. Please do support and encourage your children with their homework. Regular reading, tables practice and time spent on homework tasks really benefits each and every one.
Later in the term we look forward to taking part in 'Safer Internet Day' and learning about our responsibility to be respectful when online. We hope this will raise children's awareness of their role in making the Internet a safer place to be.
