Welcome back after the Easter break. We have lots to look forward to during the Summer term. We have already launched our Stone Age to Iron Age topic by a keystage 2 walk up Brent Knoll, where Mrs Trapp from Axbridge Museum, joined us. She talked about Brent Knoll having an Iron Age fort on the top. We will be investigating further about the different ages.

We have launched of our new reading challenge "Countdown to Summer 50", which the children have embraced once again. The children over the period of this term have to read at least 50 times. Children's books must be signed by an adult at home, this can be either a parent, grandparent, older sibling.

Both year groups have a residential to look forward. As a school we feel these are invaluable to children's social development. During the Summer term as well children will be taking part in swimming lessons, as stated in the National Curriculum, every child should be taught to swim by the end of their primary education.

As ever the children have been working hard on completing their times tables/division challenges and we really appreciate the work that is done at home, because as stated before the National Curriculum states that by the end of year 4 children should be fluent with their times tables. We do lot of work in school to practise instant recall of multiplication facts. It is vital that children feel confident with this skill. With this in mind we have sent home the Times Tables Rockstars user name and passwords. We would appreciate your continuing support in allowing your child/children to access the app. If there are any issues logging on please let me know. Please follow the link Times Tables Rockstars
