"That they may have life, life in all its fullness"
John: Chapter 10 Verse 10
This year our Foxes' Class is Years 2 and 3. The Class teacher is Mr Parrington and the HLTA is Mrs Lee.
Please see our Roadmaps for the projects we are working on and the curriculum page on this website to see which schemes and approaches we use to achieve the learning objectives for the year.
In addition to this, Foxes' have a number of visits planned. These include Tiverton Castle and theatre trips. These trips are designed to enhance the curriculum, to enhance cultural capital and support social skills.
The children in Year 2 will sit Reading and Maths tests. These, together with the results achieved in class work, will determine whether or not the children have met the required standard in English and Maths.
Those who did not achieve the required standard in Y1 will also re-take the Phonics Screening Test.
In Year 4, all pupils will sit the government's new multiplication tables test. The children in years 2 and 3 will be supported in planning for this.
Children in Years 2 and 3 are all in school Houses. Led by children in Year 6, they work on a charitable project as part of the Global Neighbours scheme which is designed by Christian Aid. They also work with their House on sporting activities.
Children will often play a part in school collective worship and may plan and lead worship for their own classes.
Our aim for Foxes' children is that their academic work progresses and shows the developing maturity that they show to us in their increasing independence and character development. We encourage participation in events such as public speaking and poetry recitals which help to increase confidence too.
Homework for Foxes' is daily practise of the work set in the Knowledge Organiser.
