Owls

This year our Owls' Class is exclusively Year 4.  The Class has a School Direct teacher, Mrs Hodge and the TA is Mrs Walton.

Please see our Roadmaps for the projects we are working on and the curriculum page on this website to see which schemes and approaches we use to achieve the learning objectives for the year.

In addition to this, Owls have a number of visits planned. These include Cinema, Dunster Castle and theatre trips. These trips are designed to enhance the curriculum, to enhance cultural capital and support social skills.

In Year 4, all pupils will sit the government's new multiplication tables test. The children will be supported in planning for this.

Children in Year 4 are all in school Houses. Led by children in Year 6, they work on a charitable project as part of the Global Neighbours scheme which is designed by Christian Aid. They also work with their House on sporting activities.

Children will often play a part in school collective worship and may plan and lead worship for their own classes.

Our aim for Owls' children is that their academic work progresses and shows the developing maturity that they show to us in their increasing independence and character development. We encourage participation in events such as public speaking and poetry recitals which help to increase confidence too.

Homework for Owls' is daily practise of the work set in the Knowledge Organiser.
