Our new fencing is being installed around the perimeter of our site, to ensure our pupils are protected and that all visitors report to Reception.

  
We have raised over £2,000 for the Children in Need appeal this year and donations are still coming in. Thank you to all our families and friends for their generous support of this worthy cause.

Today we have our second 'Crafternoon' for pupils and staff, and 6Q are holding a cake sale in the hall at breaktime, both activities in aid of mental health charity, MIND.

  
Our Health Education Information Evening for parents and carers of is on Tuesday 29 January at 7pm. The evening is primarily aimed at parents/carers of children in Year 5 or who are new to the school. However, if parents/carers of other children wish to attend, you are welcome to do so, but we would ask that you email office@fairlandsmiddleschool.co.uk so that we can prepare sufficient seating/resources.
  

The 2019-20 Term Dates have now been finalised and are published within our School Calendar section.

  

​Owing to the adverse weather conditions, Fairlands will be closed today (Friday 1 February). We will continue to update the website and our Twitter feed over the weekend, so please monitor these for more information. 

  

Fairlands will be opening as usual on Monday 4 February, but pupils will need to take care in the icey conditions. Please ensure that pupils wear sensible footwear and that they take care travelling to/from school.​

  

Following the interest in the recent Parent Governor vacancy, one application was received.  I am pleased to confirm that Rachel Evans has been appointed with effect from 14 January 2019.

​As we approach the end of this first term of 2019, Mr McHale has written to all parents/carers with the details of his next Headteacher Clinic, and information regarding the 2019/20 term dates. The letter can be found within the 'Parent Letters' section of the website.

  

The updated menu for the Spring/Summer Term has now been published on the website!​

  

For the safety of our pupils and staff, please may we remind parents/carers that they should not be driving through the school site at the beginning of the school day to drop off children, with the exception of those who require access to our accessible parking. Thank you.​

In light of the continuing uncertainty surrounding the country's withdrawal from the European Union, we have today shared the latest government advice with the parents of our Year 6 pupils taking part in the residential trip to Germany. Following the recent ransomware attack on our school, Summer Reports for pupils in Years 5, 6 and 7 will be distributed during the first week of term in September. Pupils will today, Thursday 18 July, receive their external assessment results and a letter with further information.

The July Newsletter has today been published on our website (see below) and sent to all parents/carers using ParentPay. We wish everybody a very enjoyable and relaxing summer holiday, and look forward to seeing pupils return on Wednesday 4 September.
  

We look forward to welcoming our pupils and their families, both new and returning, as we return to school next week on Wednesday 4 September. Please remember that Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 September are INSET days when school will be closed to pupils.

  

​We look forward to welcoming parents/carers of Year 3 and Year 4 pupils to Fairlands on Thursday 17 October for introductions at 6pm and 6.30pm followed by tours of the school. Tours can also be arranged on 18 October with Mr McHale at 10 am and 1.45 pm by calling Debbie Andrews at the school.

We hope parents/carers of Year 5 will also be able to join us on open evening and we will be delighted to see you.

  

​Thank you for all the postive comments following the Open Evening on Thursday 17 October. The school was buzzing with the sound of enthusiastic children and adults.  A fantastic night for Fairlands.  Mr McHale would also like to thank the parents/carers who joined him for the Open Day Tours.
