Merriott First School is set in the heart of a large village in South Somerset. At our school, individuals are valued and supported to achieve their personal best.  We believe that education is about focusing on the whole child through encouraging their personal development:  academically, socially, culturally and spiritually. We support our children in becoming independent and confident young people.

I am proud to lead a team that is committed to children's well-being, achieving high standards and providing the best opportunities for those in our care. Staff, supported by governors, work hard to deliver a rich and challenging curriculum; to help our children acquire the skills and knowledge needed in their future education. They foster enthusiasm for learning, needed to embrace opportunities and responsibilities in later life.

We believe that positive and successful education is about working together. We warmly welcome parental and community involvement in all that we do.

I hope you enjoy visiting our website and this will give you a glimpse into our wonderful school. If you are considering sending your child here, we would love to meet you and show you around. Please don't hesitate to contact Miss Abbott in our school office if you have any questions or would like to visit us.
