THURLBEAR PTA 2019-2020 - WHO'S WHO
Once again, the start of a new academic year has seen some change within the PTA. Huge thanks must be expressed to Lucie Bond who after two years of service has stood down as Chair. Lucie has committed a lot of time and energy to the role during her time in service and the School and PTA are immensely grateful to her. The good news is she still has two children at the School so I am sure we will see her at future PTA meetings and events.
Note from our Chair, Guy Mock
Hannah and I are very happy to have Sophie in Year 3 and Will in Year 5. Along with the volunteers, the PTA will continue to put on events and work closely with the School to raise money and invest back in each child's time at Thurlbear. Your help and support will be greatly appreciated throughout the year, so thanks in advance.
Note from our Vice-Chair, Rachael Dean
I'm Rachael and my children Molly and Jack are lucky enough to attend this brilliant school. Having been a parent here now for some time, I'm excited to have recently become part of the PTA committee. In my role as Vice Chair, I look forward to working with Guy, Sarah and Kerry to help to keep Thurlbear the happy, thriving and successful place it is. I'm at school every Monday and Friday, please come and see me if you have any ideas, big or small, for the PTA.
Note from our Treasurer, Kerry Prisco
Hello! Pep and I now have both our children at this fantastic school – Isabella in Year 2 and Luca in Reception. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year as Treasurer and look forward to another year in post. It has been very rewarding beng able to use my skills to benefit the PTA/school and a lot of fun organising and attending various events! I will continue to let you all know how much money is raised at each event and what additional facilities, equipment, materials and/or activities have been gifted to the children at Thurlbear School.
Note from our Secretary, Sarah Hampson
I'm Sarah, married to Gareth and mummy to Albert and Harry. We only moved to Somerset last year and are delighted that we were fortunate enough to land in the catchment of such an incredible school. Despite being new we can already see what a special place Thurlbear is and as such I volunteered to join the PTA to try and help give something back to this unique School.
How to Get Involved…
We would very much welcome your ideas for new PTA events, how you would like to see PTA funds spent going forwards and of course offers of help at the various events currently in the calendar. There are many ways that you can get in touch with the PTA either via our email; thurlbearpta@hotmail.com, via the suggestions box positioned in the School Office or in person. There is usually at least one of us in the playground before or after school so please come and say hello!
