Our School is underpinned by our Christian Values: Thankfulness, Hope, Friendship, Wisdom and Trust.
We are committed to nurturing the whole child: mind, body and spirit. With the help of our families, we aim to encourage pupils to achieve high academic standards while taking responsibility for themselves and others. Achievement through working together in a Christian Community following the teaching of Jesus. The staff, parents, carers, church workers, pupils and governors of Thurlbear CE VA Primary School work together to:
- Nurture happy, confident and independent learners
- Create a learning community confident in its Christian distinctiveness
- Inspire our children to attain their full potential
- Encourage attitudes of mutual respect and care
- Provide a curriculum that is broad, balanced, challenging and inclusive
-
Foster a partnership between our school, families, church and community
In that way, we make Thurlbear the best possible place to learn, develop and achieve.
We aim to provide an education for the ‘whole’ child. Such an education would both realise and appreciate their capabilities and talents, as well as academic achievements. To do this, we provide a safe, happy, caring, well ordered environment in which children, teachers and parents all play their part. The school is a small community within a larger one. In any community the rights and freedoms of an individual are acceptable only if they do not infringe on the rights and freedoms of others. The Christian Foundation of the school underpins the values we promote. We have close links with our family of churches supported by Rev Christabel Ager and the Seven Sowers Benefice.
